I'm Ready To Start - Now What?
To access the class after you log in, just click the My Class tab in the menu bar, then click on the link for your class. The classes are organized in an outline by week and day. You can move from one lesson to another using the Next and Previous links below the lesson text -- or you can use the Class Navigator that appears in the left sidebar. New lessons become available each day through the four weeks of the course. You can return to earlier lessons, but cannot access later ones until they come due.
The audio player appears right below the lesson heading. Just click the arrow to play and pause. When you click again the audio will resume where it left off. You can also back up by dragging the progress bar to the left.
The Bulletin Board for each lesson is integrated at the bottom of the lesson page. Just copy and paste your assignment into the text area -- or type it directly -- and press the Save button.
You may post multiple times on each lesson page. As you (and others) post your assignments, links to the previous posts will begin to appear above the text box, showing the first few words and the user name of the person who posted it. Just click to read them. You will be able to edit your own posts, though of course not those from other students.
To edit one of your own assignments: Go to the lesson it was posted on, then find the link to your post at the bottom. Click the link to see the text of your post, then look for the Edit link that will appear right below it. Note that you can't edit your post directly from the Bulletin Board view. You have to access it from the Lesson. You can also access the entire Bulletin Board for your class through the link in the sidebar. This lets you see all the posts from the entire course in one list. You can even sort them by date, student ID, or lesson -- just click on the column headings.
If you'd like to test the audio player or try your hand at cut-and-paste, you can visit the practice page.
